If you are reading this article, you are one step closer to start building your own Private Analytics reports and dashboards.
Before you start you need to prepare your Google BigQuery account and configure Clock PMS+ to export your data. Follow the steps below to do it.
- You need to have a Google account and access Google Cloud Platform with it. Please note the free account may not be used for the connection as it does not support Streaming insert functionality and hence billing should be enabled for the account.
- If this is your first time using Google Cloud Platform, you will need to:
- Select your country.
- Accept Google Cloud Platform’s terms and conditions.
- Agree and continue.
- Create a new project. Give it a proper name, choose the organization and location.
- Create BigQuery Credential file:
- Open the Google Cloud Console.
- Go to Menu > IAM & Admin > Service Accounts.
- Create new service account:
- Give it a name (e.g., ClockPMS) and description.
- Click Create and continue.
- Select role BigQuery Admin.
- Click Continue.
- Click Done.
- Open KEYS tab for the new service account.
- ADD KEY > Create new key
- Use default JSON type and click CREATE.
- Save the file and use it in Clock PMS+ settings.
- Give it a name (e.g., ClockPMS) and description.
- Configure Clock PMS+:
- Open Settings > All settings > OLD VERSION > Google BigQuery.
- Upload your credentials file.
- Select location (preferably same as project/company).
- PMS accounts: Select which accounts to export.
- POS accounts: Select which accounts to export.
- PMS/Folio/Subscription sources: Enable tables to export to BigQuery.
- Click Save.
- Once activated, you can monitor execution in:
Open Clock PMS+ Settings > All settings > Google BigQuery > Export tasks.
Note: Data export is scheduled after the end of revenue date. Configurations take effect after the revenue date is completed.
